PositiveI toured the independent living community of Regents Point in Irvine. The food is stellar there. They're concerned with the elders' sodium intake, so they don't have much seasoning, but you can certainly add seasoning to it. I was raised with great cuisine because my mom was a fantastic chef, and I was impressed with their food. I thought they really have the menu down with major vegetarian options there, so the place was amazing. I don't think it's organic, though, and I wish these places …

PositiveThis is the best place I could hope to be in. I had become a widow, had a large home and yard and could no longer keep up with the work of maintaining them. I looked at various communities in the Irvine area where my daughter lives and found them wanting. When I looked at Regents Point, I felt that this was where I belonged - residents greeted me with a smile, rooms were comfortable, the food in a beautiful dining room was very good and the facilities had lots of activities to keep busy (if I wanted). I've bee…

PositiveMy wife and I moved into this community two years ago. Within one week, we felt that we were "at home"! The first thing one notices is that the staff makes an overwhelming effort to please - wanting to know what's needed, how they can help, etc. The next thing is the friendliness of our fellow residents - inviting us to eat with them, to go to activities or events with them, to just "hang out" with them. (We visited many times before we decided to live here, were always greeted by residents…

PositiveAs far as the environment is concerned, the Regents Point is very beautiful and calm. I have a view of the park. The grounds are beautiful. It feels very welcoming, calming, and peaceful. The staff has been very helpful and friendly. There are exercise classes every day. There are a lot of different interest groups. You can volunteer for the library for the country store. They have bingo. One of the things they do here is they have people assigned to welcome newcomers and invite them to dinner so that they can get …

PositiveI toured Regents Point. It was a very pleasant place, and the people were happy. The rooms and amenities were nice. They had a pool. They had a store and an auditorium for giving concerts and plays. They had a nice dining room, lobby, and an exercise room. They have a choice to have an apartment in the building or they could have individual units outside that give more privacy. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I had some food there and it tasted good.
★★★★★
PositiveWe went to Regents Point which was a nice facility. The staff was very nice, very pleasant and very knowledgeable. They have a different structure, which was a buy-in, which surprised me. So you have to pay a good chunk of change up-front to get into the facility. What I like about that is that the residents are more apt to stay in a place like that, than when paying month to month. In terms of the meals, if you've exceeded a certain level then you have to pay a little extra money, like $10-15 a day extra. The…
