Review for The Fountains at Atco

The overall experience has not been very pleasant. The room was supposed to be touched up which was how the entrance fee was explained. This was not done. The room wasn't even cleaned. Wifi is part of the contract, however the wifi is non-existant. It took 2 months to rectify. Too many complaints about the food. The temp is always cold. No custom food options. For example eggs. The staff was professional, the place was clean, only thing to complain about was that we rarely got through to nurses station when we called and they rarely returned our calls

Senior Care is tough.

Yes for the most part we are still satisfied Food is poor, my mother has lost some weight. We make sure she has protein drinks and snacks in her room. Aide to patients ratio is low, staff they do have is kind especially the nursing staff. Fortunately my mother is pretty self sufficient and manages most things herself. Management is aware of clients concerns but does not seem to act on it.

Things to know

The assisted living side seemed acceptable. The skilled nursing side was a massive disappointment. We were lied to about equipment being broken in the rehab room when batteries were dead due to inattention. My mother's prescriptions ran out three times and I had to drive over at night to drop them off even though they have their own pharmacy. She was released to us with an untreated UTI.

A great place for mom

The residents seem happy and it is easy to get around inside. I would definitely recommend the Fountains to others. I really have no complaints. My mom loves it there, and it's been a year.
