My mom moved to Truewood by Merrill Georgetown's assisted living facility. It came from recommendations. I liked the activities and the food options. It's also a smaller-type facility with some lovely outdoor spaces. Her apartment has a little kitchenette in it with a sink and a refrigerator. Obviously, she has a private bathroom, too. my mother's experience at Truewood

On a scale of one to five, I would give Truewood a four only because the food wasn't up to my mother's standards. Otherwise, everything else was great! The main entrance, living area, dining room and other first floor amenities are very nice and appealing. The apartment size was nice with a really large closet and nice views from the windows. What we like the most about the community is the staff they were amazing and so kind to mom. Yes, we would highly recommend Truewood by Merrill to other families based on the experience.

Overall a Fairly Good Experience

Positively, my mother is happy she has not seen any bugs in her apartment and no flies in the dining room. Also she is happy with her caregivers who are friendly, attentive and responsive if anything is needed. Also, the many activities available for residents has been a good experience. Negatively, the dining experience is a bit underwhelming and does not meet her standards. Let's just say the meals aren't the highlight of the day.

Staff is very friendly, gets to know you and your family quickly, and makes you instantly feel welcome and comfortable. Food is great. They have an excellent chef. My mom is a picky eater, and every day she's excited to go eat the gourmet food. Exercise and activities are always scheduled and they encourage and include everyone.
