PositiveEarlier this year, my wife passed away. we had a large house and I am a social person and didn’t want to stay there. I also ended up in the hospital for almost three weeks and was unable to return home. Since my house was in Bixby Knolls, one of my daughters found Bixby Towers and walked in a signed me up for an assisted living room. I had no idea what it would be like, other than visiting my sister in the Bay Area in a senior living facility. The last time I was in communal living was 65 years ago in the Air Forc…

CriticalAtlantic Ave is great, with loads of restaurants and watering holes. Sadly, Bixby Towers is not. The food is terrible with few exceptions. The rooms are wonderful, with a full kitchen and a big bathroom. The wifi is constantly up then down. The air conditioning seldom works and I bought a portable to keep the temperature stable. Overall, the building is old and poorly maintained. The bus is old and the wheelchair lift does not work and they have no plans to repair it. In a word, Bixby Towers sucks.

PositiveNice facility. Clean. The room I looked at was nice. Pricing seemed fair. Concerned with the elevators. What be if there’s a fire? How do tenants get down? Very little parking available for visitors.
★★★★★
CriticalA lot of things to improve on: - their elevator seems like it's dying - friendliness of the staff towards residents...they seem to pick and choose whoever they want to be nice to - responsiveness to the needs of residents. My sister did not have a shower for weeks. Her air conditioning knocks but never fixed. They keep dodging the issues. - variety and good servings of food. When my sister was there, they were stingy on food If there was an emergency, how are they going to get 14 floors of senior residents out…

PositiveThe entire staff from the administration to the assisted-living care providers have been absolutely fantastic. The only issue we've experienced is that my father's room had some paint and flooring that needed to be repaired and still has not been completed. Food taste is average but provides all that my dad requires.
