The best thing about Belmont Village Rancho Palos Verdes is the location. It was clean. The staff was polite and informative. The facility was very nice and appeared very nicely maintained and traditional. They were just out of our price range.

Because of their Circle of Friends program, which is unique to Belmont Village, my mom with dementia now spends 8 to 10 hours a day out of her apartment --engaged mentally, socializing, and exercising; I love this. We have dined with her several times and the food in the dining room is quite good. We researched 5 or 6 assisted living facilities before choosing Belmont Village and I am convinced we could not have found a better place for my mom.

The cost of Belmont Village Rancho Palos Verdes is a little bit on the high side, but I like their overall setup, and it looks like their meal plans are quite extensive. Generally, the support staff seems to be quite caring. The staff seemed to be very friendly and provided the service. I met the marketing director, and she's very cordial and provides the overall facilities, utilization, and all that. It's very clean and seems to be well-maintained. CriticalThe public facilities are constantly updated and fresh flowers are in the lobby, but beneath the glitz are serious issues with the care provided. Belmont does not provide sufficient training of staff to provide the higher care levels required as Residents' cognitive and physical skills decline due to age. Residents with higher nursing requirements are not assigned better trained caregivers. Staff are assigned as available, and high turnover and lack of training causes safety issues.
