My father is very happy with the facility. It's clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The dining room is spacious with a restaurant feel to it. Food is good as well. Many of the units have nice views from the rooms. Price is reasonable too. It fit our budget.

I would rate Brookdale Garden Grove pretty high. They're very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and all the people that were staying there that I met were nice. It was a pleasant experience. The rooms seemed fine. Some rooms are probably not as big as I would have wanted, but they were well-kept. They had a place for everybody to meet, and they had a library. The lady I talked to was very helpful. Even after I told her that I wouldn't be staying, she was still very helpful and didn't try to push …

Criticalmove here only if you don't need medical help
I moved my father out in December after multiple emergency low glucose incidents. Admin does not return calls, the nurse does not review emails with new medical indications in a timely manner nor do they provided staff who administers medications with updated information in a timely manner or follow-up with them. Wait time for assistance with incontinence takes a while and residents develop rashes. Service rates for care are not discussed before being added to residents bill as the contract states. We are actually very disappointed with the quality of care, especially lately. They don't have transportation anymore which is creating a hardship and a main reason we chose Brookdale. We are considering moving him to a new facility.

I toured Brookdale Garden Grove, and my mother-in-law is moving to their assisted living facility. We chose it for her because of the people, the amenities, and the fact that it is an apartment, and not just a room. We also like the location because she's going to be just a mile and a half away from us. I sampled their food, and it was excellent.
