Carolina Gardens At West Columbia - CLOSED

I like the community for my loved one. The community has been great at working my concerns and questions over my loved one. The food looks good, and my loved one likes it. They have games, bible study, games, and more for the residents.

We virtually toured this community. The staff was very friendly and shared a lot of great information. They followed up with us also. We were not able to do a regular tour due to covid.

We have decided to place my parents at Carolina Gardens. Thank you for all of your help!

Don't bring your family here, the food is a lie, no restaurant style dinning..the caretakers serve the drinks and food don't wash their hands nor wear gloves, if you order a sandwich that's on the menu you wait till last to get it dishes glasses dirty tables floors filthy mold on food undercooked chicken fish..whole place has bugs dirty smelly..staff lays around on phones sleeping and eating..ignoring residents rooms are small to small for 2.people no way to have privacy no divider in studio apartmen…

This facility was clean and staff friendly. My mother is a fall risk, I was not shown or told of any types of safeguards or any emergency exits. I did not care about having to move in bed, dresser etc. Nothing mentioned about where or how medication is stored. I don't think these are questions I should have to ask

Carolina Gardens at West Columbia is a nice assisted living community and the services are exceptional. I have read some negative comments about the place, but you can't make everybody happy no matter what you do. One thing about it is that the pricing would come across pretty well, but my brother just can't afford to get into a single room. The only staff that I had contact with was the sales rep in charge.
