A home away from home...but nicer!

I cannot say enough about how much our family appreciated all the warm care and consideration that Clearwater staff showed to my elderly aunt during her time there. Small but lovely facility. Engaging staff. Proximity to my own home, availability for Memory Care residents to venture outside without an escort (compared to another facility within convenience/proximity to my own home).

All 5's! But we had to take my dad out because he escaped from the fenced memory care area by going around a corner, dragging a bench to the fence and using it to climb over the fence. He is very spry. The found him wandering in the parking lot and ascertained what happened from security camera footage. They told me they couldn't accommodate him. Bad experience...

The facility is somewhat new and they still seem to be figuring things out. Our experience at the memory portion of Clearwater (called Clearbrook) was a crazy roller coaster ride (e.g., health, security and hygiene challenges) with so many things that probably could have been avoided or managed. My mother was a resident at Clearbrook, in the memory care building for 4 months [date removed]. It was NOT a good experience. I knew after 1 month, it was the wrong place and I regret not moving out sooner. The monthly fee is $[removed] a month for a single room – at that price, this place was a huge disappointment.
