I would say that A Place for Mom had minimal impact on my choice and overall they were not too helpful in the whole process when looking for a place for my mom. Useful as a marketplace for helping to sort out issues with your aging parent and as a starting point to gain knowledge about care facilities in your area, but overall service not exactly what I was expecting.
