I talked with a resident who lives there and she told me how much she enjoys living there and how pleased she is with the amenities and services provided. However, this is a kind of scouting mission for me as I don't intend to move to the area for a few years. Excellent meals, friendly staff. More activities would be appreciated. I would recommend Summerfield. Off the four independent adult living places I've lived in Summerfield, by far, surpasses all of them; friendlier staff, better food. They have ground down sidewalk "lips", thus eliminating tripping hazards. Merrill, on the other hand, recognized the lips as a hazard and painted the lips red, which were mostly faded to such a degree they were mostly invisible.
