PositiveI will soon be 83 and have lived at Traditions at Salona for one year. My husband died one month after we moved into one of their cottage homes and I am thankful we got settled into our new retirement routine. Salona is definitely the right place for me at this time in my life. Every evening I go over to the dining room for my dinner. There I have formed many wonderful friendships and we all have a lot in common. I am able to keep my dog (my best friend) and walk her every evening -- it is nice to have sidewalks ar…

PositiveI toured Traditions at Solana. Their price was competitive. It was very fair for a couple of other places that were of similar quality. So the pricing was very good. They were very willing to work with me on that. As soon as I walked into the building, I got this very homey kind of cozy vibe. It is a very comfortable feeling. The facility was very clean. All the staff I interacted with were very kind and polite, especially towards the residents because I got to take a peek behind the doors into memory care and see …

PositivePluses- friendly staff; nice, clean, inviting facility (a place I'm happy to go to 3-4 times/week; they let you host parties there in several different areas for free; they seem to work on problems that need to be fixed; my parents love the quiet outdoor environment with trees & and a river on one side and a lake on the other, mom loves to watch the sun set over the lake; they host fun parties for residents- summer BBQ, Christmas, Mother's & Father's Day luncheons; they bring in live musicians Minuses- staff turno…

PositiveMy sister is now at Traditions at Solana. It's a much bigger facility. It gives them a lot more flexibility. Their reasoning was that if my sister is not compatible with the group that she is part of, then she could move to a different part of it. The people were very nice. Everyone I've dealt with has been excellent. I met the community relations director, the memory care director, and the activity director. I've encountered several of them, and I think they all seem fine. They have activities. They…

CriticalDuring tours we were sold one thing and given another. Solana has not met our expectations. The dining room has not been available to my mother 24/7. The nurses are not showering my mother as promised. The activities don’t have any meaning behind them. We were told they do meaningful things like trivia and remembering the past and paint and sips with happy hour social 3x a week. I have not received not even one activity calendar from the director. I was told I’d get one every week via email. Very dirty on weekends.
